On Isle of Palms, deck railing takes a beating from salt air, wind, and storms, so it has to be built to last. A lot of homes still have traditional wood railings, and they can look great when maintained, but with the coastal exposure, more homeowners are moving toward aluminum for something that holds up better over time. We’ve completed a lot of RailView projects out here, especially on beachfront and raised homes, where that clean, open look really stands out and doesn’t block the view. Both options work, but on Isle of Palms, it usually comes down to durability and keeping that view wide open.
